What you bring

A dial test indicator and magnetic base, a test bar or known-good tool holder, a flashlight and phone camera, feeler gauges, and the printed scorecard. Score each check 1–5, then use the workbook to turn the scores into a buy, negotiate or walk call and a landed-cost estimate.

What it is not

The kit is a buyer’s field guide. It is not a warranty, not an inspection report, and not a substitute for OEM service manuals or a licensed electrician. Shop gages are for relative checks and are not lab-calibrated standards. The landed-cost sheet uses the numbers you enter; it does not supply market values. You make the final buying call.
